To get the cheapest Samsung or Google flagship in 2026, you’ll need to choose a smaller phone. The Samsung Galaxy S26, for instance, is a 6.3-inch smartphone. If you want to splurge for a 6.7-inch display, you’ll need to pay $1,200 for the Galaxy S26 Plus. That’s $200 more than than the Galaxy S25 Plus went for, and $100 more than the Galaxy S26 Plus originally cost when it launched in March.

Phones with large screens are expensive, in other words — but the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE is an outlier. It offers the same 6.7-inch screen size as the Galaxy S26 Plus for $500 less, and it’s worth your attention for that reason alone. I’ve used the Galaxy S26 FE for weeks, and it’s closer to flagship territory than you may think.
