Price rumors are talking about Samsung’s next wave of products this year, and what they’re saying might (not) surprise you.
A post by WinFuture alleges a series of price increases for Samsung’s upcoming foldables and watches (via Android Headlines). The publication cites its “reliable sources” in stating the Galaxy Z Fold 8 “Ultra,” which was previously rumored to be the Fold 7’s successor, could see a €100 (~$114) increase for its 256GB entry option. It claims that consumers looking to max out on storage with its 1TB variant might see a €280 (~$320) price hike.
That would put the 1TB variant at ~€2,799 (~$3,201). The “Wide” Fold 8 we’ve been hearing about could see a €1,999 (~$2,286) price tag for its 256GB model.
The post states that the starting price of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could go up by €100. What’s more, the starting prices for the 40mm Bluetooth Galaxy Watch 9 and its 44mm size variant could rise by €40 and €30 (~$45, ~$34), respectively. As far as the Watch Ultra 2 is concerned, the report claims that it could jump by €50 (~$57).
Nothing is set in stone, of course. These are rumors. Also, the USD estimations are simply estimations. Samsung usually tweaks these prices a bit to fit the market the device will be sold in. Keep that in mind. We are expecting Samsung to debut its next products in July, but there are other things we should discuss first.
What we might see
Earlier this week, alleged specifications for Samsung’s wide foldable surfaced for the first time. We’ve “known” that this phone was going to adopt a wider stance than before; however, tipster Tarun Vats speculates the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (now the wider variant) could grab a 5.5-inch Quad HD Plus screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Inside, consumers could find a 7.6-inch Quad HD Plus display and a 4:3 aspect ratio.
The device is expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a 4,800mAh battery. The cameras were another talking point back in May. Those reports suggest the wider Fold’s cameras won’t be as interesting as its shape. Supposedly, the company is dropping a lens. We might only see a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultrawide lens. Basically, we could miss out on a telephoto, which makes the standard Fold we’re used to look a little more appealing.

These rumors can get confusing. We’ve got name changes galore, and not much that’s confirmed. Samsung recently started a marketing campaign after completely wiping its Instagram account. It’s trying a different approach to teasing the next foldables. That means we—the users—need to turn into detectives and figure out what’s going on. I think I’m more interested in finally seeing what these phones will offer than going over these rumors.
