Unadulterated Android
The Pixel 11 is one of the best base model Pixels in Google’s flagship lineups. It doesn’t have HiLight or UWB like the Pixel 11 Pro or Pro XL, but you still get an upgraded main sensor, a newer and faster Tensor G6 chipset, faster wireless charging, great social features, and useful AI tools and features like Magic Capture. It is also $300 cheaper than the iPhone 18 Pro, though it can’t keep up with the iPhone’s gaming performance or all-star variable-aperture camera setup.

Looks-wise, both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pixel 11 haven’t changed much over their last-gen counterparts beside getting a bit slimmer and lighter. Interestingly, between the two of them, they have a similar in-hand feel as both sport 6.3-inch AMOLED screens, weigh almost the same, and have very similar dimensions too. Neither display is good for PWM-sensitive folks, but iPhone tends to manage PWM cycles better.

The iPhone 18 Pro favors a strikingly different camera unit compared to the Pixel 11’s camera bar, even though both have triple cameras. If you have trypophobia, the iPhone will probably trigger it.
The iPhone has superior camera hardware with higher resolution overall. Variable-aperture is the biggest upgrade on the iPhone 18 series, allowing users to have granular control over the aperture and depth of field. Low-light photography has also improved.
On the Android side of things, the Pixel 11 has a new main camera compared to the Pixel 10, but overall the camera hardware is largely unchanged. Pixels always take spectacular photos, as do iPhones, so this is a really tough battle.
Both devices have their own set of camera tools and features baked in. The iPhone 18 Pro finally has a proper Pro camera mode and features like Spatial Reframing. Google also has cool tricks up its sleeves with AI-based features like Magic Capture, the most attractive draw of the Pixel 11.

This is the most polarizing part of the face off because iOS and Android are vastly different operating systems. Apple focuses on a more shut-off, locked in ecosystem that does not play nice with third-party peripherals, and that flows into the software, restricting customization.
Meanwhile, Android is a lot more open, and the Pixel UI is arguably one of the purest, most useful and fun versions of the Android experience. And, of course, Pixel users get access to a significantly more open and wider range of accessories.
At the end of the day, Apple might have introduced a ton of useful “new” features with the iPhone 18 Pro, but the truth is, most Android devices have had these features for years. The Pixel 11 is much more versatile and feature rich in terms of software.

Unless you’re an absolute camera nut or gaming enthusiast, the Google Pixel 11 is clearly the better deal overall. You still get triple cameras, all-day battery, spectacular software, and seven years of OS and security upgrades, all for $300 cheaper than the iPhone 18 Pro.
Admittedly, the iPhone 18 Pro may beat the Pixel 11 at photography and videography, as well as heavy gaming, but this in no way means that the Pixel can’t stand on its own. You can still game on it, though the phone might need a few breaks. Not to mention, the Pixel’s cameras blow us away every time.
In the entry-level flagship segment, the Pixel 11 delivers better value overall.
The best of Google
Save yourself $300 and a lot more money you would’ve had to spend on “official” Apple accessories by getting the Pixel 11. It’s a similar size, excels at photography, and lasts all day long. The camera might not be able to beat the iPhone 18 Pro, but it definitely is worth every penny and shines in its own right.
The new entry-level iPhone
The iPhone 18 Pro brings major camera upgrades, several new software features, and a larger battery. It’s a worthy successor to the iPhone 17 Pro, and better than the Pixel 11 in some aspects. Apple no longer makes a base model iPhone 18 though, so this comparison isn’t entirely on even footing.
