[Guyana, safe abortion] “Since the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act 1995 (MTOPA), Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) has experienced a 97% decline in admissions for complications arising from unsafe abortion.” (Fred Nunes, in Stabroek News, May 12, 2025 Article online.
[Norway, abortion] Norway’s revised abortion law, effective June 1, 2025, extends the limit for self-determined abortion (that is, the right to abort without requiring prior authorization from an abortion board) from 12 to 18 weeks of pregnancy. After 18 weeks, specialized committees will replace the current abortion boards to review cases. News report.
