The woman who has been charged with shooting at Rihanna‘s home has had a troubled past with the law in recent years.
As Perezcious readers know, on Sunday afternoon, approximately 10 rounds were fired at RiRi’s home — and she was inside! Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, was arrested not long after and charged with attempted murder. She’s currently being held on an over $10 million bail. The incident came after she posted concerning posts about Rihanna and other celebrities… and it’s not her first run-in with the law.
According to Page Six‘s findings on Monday, Ivanna was arrested back in June 2023 for a domestic violence incident with her ex-husband, whom they referred to as John Doe. She was charged with battery (domestic violence) for the incident that went down outside her Orlando, Florida, apartment.

Per an incident report from the Orlando Police Department, John told responding officers he and his ex agreed via text for him to drop their daughter off at her apartment. Ivanna had apparently told him not to be late and they got into an argument over the messages.
In the texts, which the officer looked at, Ivanna was seen writing:
“You’ll be getting socked on the nose tonight.”
Jeez. She added minutes later:
“What’s it going to be twin, your [sic] calling the shots tonight and I’m throwing punches.”
The officer made sure to note that the ex-husband did not threaten to harm Ivanna at all in the conversation. He went the opposite route, expressing he wanted them to figure out a way to raise their daughter peacefully.
Unfortunately, things were still heated when he showed up at the apartment. He began filming on his phone, and when his ex opened the door, she allegedly called him the f-word, a slur used against people in the LGBTQ+ community.
John Doe didn’t want to leave his daughter and urged her to come with him as he began walking away. That’s when Ivanna allegedly lunged at him and tried to grab his phone. She missed, but tried again, which prompted him to push her away. She fell to the ground and allegedly started punching John, who pushed her down again and tried to hold her down while he told her to stop.
A neighbor then heard all the noise and came outside, and they broke apart. John Doe called 911, and the responding officer saw a scratch on the right side of his face.
Heartbreakingly, while the officer tried to talk to the daughter, she was so emotional that she was crying to the point of hyperventilating! Aw. She also said several times that she didn’t want anyone to get in trouble or go to jail. Oof. So tough.
The mother claimed her ex provoked her by showing up at the apartment, which is why she grabbed at his phone. She alleged he struck her with it, pushed her to the ground, pulled her hair, and placed his hand on her neck. However, she later admitted he used his hand to try to subdue her — not to choke her, though she noted she punched him in an effort to defend herself.
The officer sided with John Doe, the police report stated:
“I find Ivanna Otriz to be the primary aggressor of the above incident.”
Three months later, Ivanna was arrested for allegedly violating pre-trial release conditions linked to the case. Before all this, she was also caught driving carelessly in September 2021.

Sounds like she’s had a complicated few years… It’s still unclear what led to the house shooting.
