North West may be one of the most prominent celebrity kids in Hollywood, but that apparently doesn’t give her a golden ticket to accessing whatever brand she wants…
The Kardashian family is known for their lavish shows of luxury. You won’t catch them out and about not in head-to-toe designer. But one luxury brand apparently feels like North has something to prove before she can do the same.

In journalist Amy Odell’s latest Black Row newsletter, she details a time Kim Kardashian and Kanye West reportedly attempted to purchase a luxurious and rare Hermès Kelly bag for their eldest daughter, but allegedly got rejected. In her Retail Confessions series, Odell spoke with a former employee of the Beverly Hills Hermès, who revealed to her “not every celebrity got what they wanted” while shopping at the location. The insider claimed:
“Kanye West and Kim Kardashian wanted a Black Mini Kelly bag for North or something like that. And Hermès said no.”
What?! How come?! Wouldn’t that be, like, good marketing for them?! Well, paparazzi pics are allegedly the exact reason they didn’t want North getting the bag:
“I have no idea why, but we were like, ‘Oh, wow.’ I think at that point it goes through corporate, because if someone who’s that high profile wants something, then obviously they’re going to be photographed in it — and they don’t want just anyone photographed in it.”
That’s HARSH! North is just a kid! The insider continued:
“So you’d call the press office and be like, ‘Hey, so and so wants a handbag.’ And they’d usually say, ‘Cool.’ But for some reason they didn’t want North West to have an alligator Mini Kelly.”
It’s not clear when exactly the rejection was made, but it’s not unheard of for the rare alligator Mini Kelly bags to resell for more than $75,000.
