Jelly Roll is opening up about meeting Donald Trump about a month ago.
The 40-year-old “Run It” singer was seen greeting the President-elect at the UFC 309 event on November 16th at Madison Square Garden.
Following that, the singer received some criticism for the meeting. On the latest episode of his wife Bunnie XO‘s podcast Dumb Blonde, he opened up about meeting Trump and noted why he doesn’t care about the backlash and criticism.

“Dude, there’s not a chance in hell that I’m not going to meet the president-elect. I don’t care,” he said.
“If I got a call to meet Joe Biden, I would have stopped at any point and [met] him,” Jelly Roll added. “That’s the active president. I don’t care about what he thinks or I think about policies.”
“I don’t hide behind the I’m not political stuff. I’m not political! People who actually know me know I’m also one of the old-school dudes,” he went on. “I like to talk about things I’m passionate about. With that, I like to know about it. I don’t know enough about politics to act like I know anything that’s going on or what anybody’s standing for policy-wise.”
The singer added that when he was younger, he grew up in a “voting culture” household and his parents pushed him to vote, and they also “did push respecting the president though.”
“Meeting President Trump was cool. Ultimately, I don’t really care [about] any blowback I get about it,” he said. “The truth is: It was really cool to meet the president.”
“Anybody who gets the opportunity to meet a president, a vice president… anything like that. It’s a f—ing honor,” Bunnie added in agreement.
Another celebrity opened up about a similar moment of meeting Donald Trump at a UFC match a few years ago, and they had a similar sentiment about the meeting.
