Chase Stokes and Kelsea Ballerini may have split, but he’s still defending her fiercely!
On Tuesday, the country star’s ex-husband Morgan Evans opened up about their split in an interview with Bobby Bones on The BobbyCast podcast — and clips got back to the Outer Banks star, who wasn’t here for it AT ALL! In a since-deleted Instagram comment, Chase BLASTED Morgan, writing:
“This is about the most pathetic excuse of masculinity ive ever seen. Get a f**king life”
OMFG!

What did Morgan say to cause all this? First off, he recalled back to 2022 when Kelsea said she wanted a divorce after five years of marriage, claiming he was “not expecting that conversation.” He explained:
“I definitely wasn’t [expecting it], and it took me by surprise. But yeah, that whole time is such a blur. It almost feels like somebody else, just from where I’m sitting now. I just look back and I’m like, ‘Oh my God.’ … Yeah, it was just kind of a whirlwind, life-changing moment.”
He also threw some shots at Kelsea’s music following the split, particularly her candid album Rolling Up the Welcome Mat, which detailed the heartbreaking divorce and skyrocketed her to a new level of fame. As inspiration for much of the music, Evans said he felt he was characterized unfairly in the music:
“In my case, it didn’t feel like it necessarily had a lot to do with me. I think maybe I was presented, or made out to be, or became an archetype for any guy that had done any woman wrong during that period of time. Like, some of the stuff was just like… ‘what? What are you even talking about?”
He added:
“It doesn’t not hurt…especially if it was real vicious or something. And then I’d click on whoever said it and just have a look and just be like, ‘Oh, yeah, it’s OK. That looks like somebody going through a tough time.’”
Kelsea’s yet to react to the drama, but Bobby Bones is defending the chat! In an Instagram video on Wednesday, the host said he had “nothing against” Chase but strongly disagreed with his take on the podcast. He jabbed:
“If you’re going to come that hard, maybe you don’t want to take that [comment] down.”
LOLz! He said you’d better stand on business!
But the radio personality went on to insist the singer-songwriter had a right to share his version of the story, just as his ex had done:
“It was just, he’s going to speak about [the divorce] once and never again, so we did that. I thought he came off really well. I thought he was very kind in his version of events. There’s three stories, right? There’s his story, her story and the real story.”
Once again throwing some shade at the Uglies star, he suggested “people who project onto other people” might be “way less masculine and maybe insecure in their own masculinity.” Damn! He added:
“This masculinity thing was just weird. Why would you challenge someone’s masculinity?”
TBH, it’s especially odd considering Chase and Kelsea dramatically split earlier this year after shocking the world by revealing they were back together on NYE after a previous split. There’s been lots of cheating rumors floating around, and a Us Weekly source said that while Kelsea was “done,” Chase “still [wasn’t] ready to give up” on the romance. So, maybe that’s why he’s coming to her defense?
Hmm. What do U make of this?? Sound OFF (below)!
