Its main purpose is simple. It keeps Meta’s Muse AI assistant within easy reach.

The device features a tiny display with a digital character called Jolly. This gives the wearable a more playful appearance than many traditional gadgets.

Users can speak directly to Muse through the device. The AI assistant can then respond and potentially help with different tasks.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced Muse Charm during the company’s annual Connect event. The device appeared toward the end of his presentation in a “one more thing” reveal.

How Does the Muse AI Wearable Work?

Muse Charm is designed to make interacting with an AI assistant faster.

Users do not have to unlock their phone first. They also do not need to find and open an app.

Instead, they can tap the device’s fingerprint sensor. This allows them to start talking to Muse. The idea is to make AI access feel more immediate. The device puts the assistant just a tap away.

Zuckerberg said Meta was able to bring the Muse experience into a keychain-sized form. The device is intended to support features such as real-time voice interaction and the animated avatar.

It also gives users another way to interact with Muse when they are not wearing Meta’s smart glasses.

Muse Charm Has a Tamagotchi-Like Design

The small display gives Muse Charm a distinctive personality.

According to The Verge, the digital character, Jolly, makes the device feel somewhat similar to a modern Tamagotchi. Instead of simply displaying information, the screen gives the AI a visible presence.

That design could help Meta make AI feel more personal. It may also make the device stand out from conventional smart assistants.

For Meta, Muse Charm could serve another purpose as well. It provides a new piece of hardware through which users can interact with the company’s growing AI ecosystem.

When Will Meta Muse Charm Be Available?

Muse Charm is not ready for consumers yet.

Zuckerberg said Meta still needs to finalize some of the device’s internal components. The company is aiming to have the wearable ready for the holiday season in December.

Earlier this week, Meta Muse AI assistant reportedly suffered from a zero-day vulnerability.
