RayNeo unveiled a handful of new AR smart glasses for consumers early this morning (Aug 21) that aim to lead productivity and entertainment.
The company had a lot to discuss this morning, and what kicked things off was the reveal of the RayNeo iO smart glasses. In its press release, RayNeo says the iO is “designed for professionals, executives, and multi-screen operators.” For this product, consumers should think of productivity with glanceable “ambient intelligence.” To achieve this, the RayNeo iO features a HUD (heads-up display) with 97% optical transparency that will consistently feed the user information.
RayNeo says that at 1,300nits of peak brightness, the transparent HUD remains invisible to others, but clear to you. Since the iO is meant to be worn comfortably, RayNeo says the glasses weigh 33 grams.

Ambient Intelligence is assisted by RayNeo’s Ambient AI Productivity Suite. The RayNeo iO features the Ambient AI Life Log, which “operates in a low-power background tier to capture schedules and conversation contexts.” If you were in an important meeting, the iO smart glasses can pick out dates and other details for you. The user can confirm what the glasses have picked out with a head nod to save them.
Live Translation and the Auto-Teleprompter might also aid users in meetings and presentations. While the former is self-explanatory, the latter can provide the user with their script and scroll at their speaking pace. Multiple LLMs, such as Google’s Gemini, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Claude, and DeepSeek, are available.
The RayNeo iO smart glasses take a different approach: they have no speakers. Everything you’d need for the day will appear on that transparent HUD. However, it does include a four-microphone array for transcription. RayNeo adds that this device features a 240mAh battery that can last up to two days with “typical use.”
Hardware-wise, the iO features a Smart Crown rotary dial above the right temple. These glasses will launch with Android and iOS compatibility. Additionally, as we’ve come to appreciate, the iO will debut with a “hardwired LED status light” that shines when you’re recording or transcribing. RayNeo reveals that the iO will debut on September 4 in Polar Night and Dune.
Pricing will likely be revealed closer to this date.
RayNeo GT series is pure cinema
If we were to flip the script on AR smart glasses, what would we get? RayNeo says we’d get the GT and GT Max smart glasses with a strong focus on entertainment. As a duo, the GT series shares a few important features. According to its press release, the GT series features full Dolby Vision support. With this, and alongside the RayNeo Pocket TV Pro, the GT glasses natively support Dolby Vision with “real-time” AI SDR-to-HDR conversion.
The other side of this is the GT series’ quad-speaker setup, head-tracked spatial audio, and Whisper Mode directional transmission. Users can watch their favorite shows and movies with the RayNeo GT series, but your sofa might not always be available. To solve this, RayNeo includes three viewing modes: Steady (traveling bumps), Pinned (anchors screen, works with 3D experience), and Follow.
The RayNeo GT Max takes its experience a little further. These lenses come with the Peacock Optical Engine 3.0 Max and a 5.5th-gen Tandem MicroOLED display. As a result, RayNeo states the GT Max delivers a 59-degree FOV and gives users the ability to scale their virtual screen between three sizes: 227 inches, 267 inches, and 307 inches.
The GT series will join the iO smart glasses on September 4 for a retail release. RayNeo states consumers can find “official custom prescription lens inserts” for the GT and GT Max once they are available.
