If Google’s latest Pixel 11 leak is anything to go by, the days of purchasing a Pixel phone with just 128GB storage could soon be over. The catch? You might have to pay more up front.
A fresh report from Dealabs paints the clearest picture yet of Google’s upcoming Pixel 11 lineup. It suggests Google is preparing a major shake-up for storage, colors, pricing, and launch timing ahead of the phones’ expected debut next month.
Perhaps the most surprising change (or not) is something many Pixel fans have been begging for. The leak suggests that Google is killing the 128GB base storage option across the entire Pixel 11 family. Instead, each model would ship with 256GB, bringing the Pixel family more in line with the direction other flagship makers have been heading.
Of course the change has a clear downside. The report says prices across the range will be up about €100 in Europe. That sounds like a straightforward price hike, but there’s a bit more to it.
Prices could be shifting up
For the standard Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro, those buyers would essentially be paying what the 256GB versions of the last generation already cost. That means the base storage is twice as large, but so is the base price. The Pixel 11 is expected to begin at €999 for 256GB, while the Pixel 11 Pro could start at €1,199.
For Google’s premium models, however, the news is less rosy. The Pixel 11 Pro XL is said to start at €1,399, while the Pixel 11 Pro Fold could go up to €1,999 for the base 256GB model. These seem to be real price increases (unlike the standard models, which are replacements for lower-capacity variants).
The Pixel 11 Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold are said to scale up to 1TB of storage, but the highest storage version is said to be available in just the Midnight Haze black color. The standard Pixel 11 would max out at 512GB.
The leak also shows a glimpse of what could be the color palette of Google’s lineup for this year. The regular Pixel 11 is expected to be launched in Midnight Haze (black), Light Sterling (gray), Moss (green), and Fuchsia (pink). The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL, meanwhile, are rumored to be available in Midnight Haze, Light Fog (white), Pine (green), and Dune (pink). Those looking to get their hands on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold have fewer options, as only Midnight Haze and Pine are said to be on the table.
Timing-wise, Google just revealed that it will launch the Pixel 11 series on August 12, and preorders will start right after. It is expected to go on sale in stores on August 20.
But there is still an important caveat. These figures are accurate for Europe and the UK. Google doesn’t always reflect regional pricing across markets, so US pricing could end up telling a different story when the company makes everything official.

Personally, I’m all for Google ditching 128GB as the default. In 2026, that much storage just doesn’t cut it with AI features, 4K videos, and massive apps eating up space faster than ever. I’d rather start with 256GB than worry about deleting photos in a few months. That said, Google should not use a long overdue storage bump as an excuse to quietly charge everyone more. Doubling the storage is a welcome upgrade, but it only feels worthwhile if the price reflects the value rather than serving as another reason to justify flagship phone costs.
