The Revista Direito GV invites submissions for its special issue on Law, Gender, and Equality. This issue aims to celebrate and promote discussion on the themes explored in Frontiers of Gender Equality: Transnational Legal Perspectives, edited by Rebecca Cook.
The book offers a global perspective on the wrongs of gender discrimination and the multiple dimensions of gender equality. Featuring a range of case studies from various countries, Frontiers of Gender Equality explores the legal and institutional mechanisms that reproduce both new and old forms of gender discrimination, as well as the ongoing struggles for gender equality worldwide. The introduction and chapter summaries are available at: https://frontiersofgenderequality.ca/.
In the same spirit of amplifying voices to promote gender equality goals, this special issue aims to attract researchers who explore the multiple intersections of law, gender, and equality in their own research. Inspired by the book, the Special Issue will encompass theoretical perspectives on gender equality and antidiscrimination law, empirical research on how gender and sexual discrimination are reproduced in different contexts, and feminist rewriting.
Revista Direito GV values and welcomes multidisciplinary contributions from diverse fields such as labor law, economic law, international law (including decisions from the Inter-American and European systems), sociology of law, legal philosophy, and law and development. We believe a plurality of perspectives is crucial to understanding and promoting gender equality.
Article Submission
To submit an article, please ensure that it adheres to the guidelines and instructions outlined in the Revista Direito GV Editorial Policy. When preparing the cover letter, please remember to add the sentence “This submission is for the Special Issue on Law, Gender, and Equality” to the file. Once you have prepared your article, you can submit it through the ScholarOne Manuscripts online system.
Articles will undergo a double-blind peer review process, following an initial desk review by the editor-in-chief and the guest editor, who will assess the formal aspects and the manuscript’s relevance to the themes of the special issue. Submissions in Portuguese, English, or Spanish are acceptable, provided they are original and unpublished.
